This time a year ago I was driving across the Oregon/Washington border and steadily making my way north. My destination was Alaska and I spent the better part of three months there exploring its vast and incredible landscape. I’m thrilled to announce that I’ll be publishing a book of these photographs to celebrate the journey!
In this digital age with the proliferation of cameras and the barrage of images on social media, we often forget about the value of a printed photograph. The tactile feel and experience of viewing a beautifully printed image that isn’t backlit by LEDs and validated by the number of “Likes and Shares”. It’s just paper and ink, to hold in your hand. When printed there and presented with intention and skill, the image viewing experience can take on a whole new meaning. One that will quite possibly affect the viewer more deeply and profoundly than any HD retina screen ever could. The printed version will also be around a lot longer to admire as well. I digress.
It’s been far too long since I got my hands dirty and produced a printed portfolio of photographs. That is why I’m waxing poetic and so excited to be working on this project. Please stay tuned for more details. I will be intentionally keeping costs low to more easily share and enjoy the book with you all.
Stay tuned. There will be more details to come on The Road to Alaska page!
